THOUSANDS of people gathered across Spain on Monday to protest the killing of Samuel Luiz Muñiz.

The 24-year-old from A Coruña was savagely beaten to death by seven thugs outside a nightclub in his hometown.

Reports say the attackers waited for Samuel to leave the nightclub at around 3am on Saturday before pouncing on him, yelling ‘f*ggot’ as they brutally assaulted him.

Paramedics spent two hours trying to revive him at the scene but he later died from his injuries at A Coruña University Hospital Complex (CHUAC).

Demonstrations have taken place in cities including Madrid, Valencia and A Coruña to protest the horrific killing which took place during LGTB Pride in Spain.

Crowds gathered to rail against anti-LGBTQ hate crimes and violence, calling for an end to homophobia in Spain.

In Samuel’s hometown of A Coruña, protesters met in the Plaza de María Pita and observed a minute of silence in memory of the much-loved 24-year-old.

Despite the heavy rain, protestors gathered together carrying posters emblazoned with the phrases: ‘His love did not hurt, our hatred did’, ‘We ask for respect’ and ‘Samu has not died, he has been murdered’.

A rally in Madrid was reportedly attended by around 3000 people in Puerta del Sol, including representatives from Podemos, Mas Madrid and United We Can.

Hundreds also gathered in Valencia for a peaceful demonstration. Around 300 people attended the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, cheering ‘Here we are, we don’t kill!’.

After a minute of silence, the protesters burst into applause, chanting ‘they are killing us and you’re not doing anything’.
